Penny stocks & pump-and-dump — 7 red flags
"Multibagger" tips on WhatsApp and Telegram are still trapping retail investors. October 2026's enforcement action is a textbook case.
What the agencies allege
- On 16 October 2026 the Enforcement Directorate searched 29 premises in six cities in a money-laundering probe into alleged manipulation of shares of R M Drip and Sprinklers Systems and R&B Denims.
- ED alleges preferential allottees got shares/warrants cheaply, WhatsApp "Multibagger Stocks" groups then promoted the shares, and insiders sold into the demand.
- Shares reportedly fell about 70%; over 1 lakh investors are said to have lost about ₹600 crore. ED froze about ₹200 crore in trading accounts.
- These are allegations under investigation; no court has ruled.
